The Ride Safe London workshop
Entry requirements
To take part in the Ride Safe London workshop you must have passed the motorcycle test in one of the following UK motorcycle licence categories: A2 or A. We do not currently offer the training on motorcycles below the A2 category.
You must have your own motorcycle which must be in a road safe condition according to UK legal requirements and must supply evidence of valid tax, MOT (if applicable) and insurance together with your UK motorcycle driving licence. Holders of the old style paper driving licence must also supply valid UK photo ID such as a passport. Your motorcycle will be checked for road legality. All functions must be in working order and tyres must be in a safe condition. Number plates should conform with the law. Flip-up number plates are strictly forbidden. Exhausts should conform with legal requirements. You must wear appropriate motorrcycle protective clothing and wear an approved motorcycle helmet.

The training
​
We start with the theory of advanced riding and the systematic riding approach. You will be presented with advanced riding concepts such as how to read the road, observation, effective positioning, the use of appropriate speed, motorcycle control, cornering, braking techniques and hazard planning. You will then take on a variety of road and traffic conditions whilst being observed by an experienced and Police trained motorcyclist. Regular de-briefs will improve your technique and sharpen your skills. The aim is to make you a more confident, efficient, progressive, skilled and therefore safer rider.

At the end of the ride you will receive feedback on your progress and advice on how to go further to continue to improve your skill level and safety.

We believe in increasing the safety of motorcyclists in London and believe that the best way of achieving that is by effective, professional training. We want to help you to enjoy your motorcycling to the best of your ability. We believe London's motorcyclists deserve this training. We believe in you!

About US
After more than 20 years of providing the excellent Bikesafe workshop the Metropolitan Police decided they would be withdrawing from the scheme. The only safety initiative open to London's motorcyclists disappeared overnight.

We are firm believers in the importance of the excellent training course and looked for a way to bring it back to London's motorcyclists.
​
Brought to you by the excellent motorcycle training reputation behind ACBT London Motorcycle Training and DAS Training London, Ride Safe London re-creates the excellent training programme still being offered by Police services around the country but not available to you here in London, the largest motorcycle environment in the country.

With an in house Police background we have recruited serving and ex Police motorcyclists who have previously delivered the Bikesafe workshop so that once again, London's motorcyclists can take advantage of expert training in a friendly, progressive, environment.

Bikesafe was designed as the bridge between passing the motorcycle test and advanced motorcycle training courses to encourage London's motorcycle riders to be better, more skilled, and, therefore, safer.

Supported by Lexham Insurance, Triumph London and MAG (Motorcycle Action Group) we are delighted to bring this essential workshop back to London's motorcyclists.
